Eyewitness account of bourgeois decadence

Where are the Garage Collective when you need them? A few metres from me, Skyler and Muzzlehatch are at this moment (well, not quite at this moment - the ads are on) watching American Idol - and noisily enjoying it (yes, their applause/cackling persists into the ad breaks!). Don't implicate me in their crimes - I'm reading Kendrick Smithyman.

Vic and I watched Terminator One tonight - I enjoyed it.

I get a good laugh out of Idol sometimes
esp when Simon says to some useless person - "Give it up!" or "That was excruciating - I've never heard anything so bad in my life - trust me - give up singing."!!

The whole Idol thing is a trap...some good singers but mostly they are not memorable.

Pathetic this "dream of stardom."

But Terminator is higher culture for sure. I liked the way Terminator was crushed...

I've seen 1 and part of 2 so I want to see 3

Maps you should have been watching Idol.
That Smithyman poem was weak.
It's just a typical boring New Zealand nature poem, with a pretentious title thrown into deceive readers.
Well, to try to deceive them.

Smithyman the great deceiver: oh dear.

It helps to read beyond the first stanza before passing judgement.

I think the Smithyman site is one of the gems of Auckland University, but then I also enjoy Beethoven's "childish romanticism."

You remember the ancient city of Babylon, so mighty that no one could imagine it going down. Though protected by water and walls thick enough on top to use for a road it fell in one night.

So that which denies God can crumble very fast and unexpectedly and by means we might not expect.

One way or another The Temple of Darwinism is coming down.

I believe MOST of the dinosaurs died during a series of cataclysmic events - what is in view in the bible as the "great flood", and the dividing of the continents (most people are unaware this later cataclysmic event is documented in the bible also). Others died before or after due to massive alterations in climate, or localized catastrophes.

Your don't get fossilized remains in swamps or along river beds - I am from the country and it doesn't happen because of scavenging and predatation. And you would never see beds of 1,000s of individuals in the same strata without a cataclysmic event.

As to how the great flood happened, people forget it says that the waters of the deep were broken up and flooded up at the same time that a cataclysmic climate change occurred (i.e. the atmosphere releasing huge amounts of water previously held as vapor). These events could have been caused or precipitated by asteroid/comet impact, a period of intense vulcanism in which a super volcano releases huge amounts of gas and clastic material, etc.

If you have noticed, you will never see any reputable climatologist claim that there could not be enough water to cause a world wide flood. Just change a few variables (depth of oceans, heights of mountains, flood surge) and you have more than enough to cover the globe. In fact, I am familiar with a scientist at Sandia National Labs who modeled a world wide flood on a supercomputer and produced an animation of the effects on Pangaea. (The original super continent before they broke apart)

As with most geological changes, instead of slow changes over time, there are long periods of very little change, and then huge events occur.... Even the evolutionist are adopting this timeline -they call it "punctuated equilibrium".

But I know you won't be happy with any explanation because you are unwilling to contemplate a universe that has a God other than yourself or humanity.

As far as traditional science goes, need I remind you of the numerous frauds perpetrated on the public by reputable scientists? Piltdown Man, Nebraska Man, Peking Man, the coacelenth, the many disproved dino-bird fossils found in China, etc? And where is the smooth transition of fossils through the millions of years of evolutionary progress? Still missing.

You have faith - it's just in something different than I do.

Do you know what a science textbook is good for? A doorstop.

Two (near gibberish) comments here on a subject that has nothing to do with the topic under discussion...

But why are these anonymous loonies concerned whether we believe in God or not? I don't think any of us here concur in our beliefs or "faith" (whatever that is) and so on - my son and I don't even agree - for the sake of the bald and beautiful and golden bollocks of Allah!

I happen to love the beauty of evolutionary theory - there is nothing unproved - no missing links - -the hoaxes were soon detected - I have a complete book on the Piltdown man hoax - but I also studied biology and anthropology as well as electronics etc and literature. (I can also dance the Foxtrot and am skilled in Pavanes)

Others on here have deeper qualifications in Science, Anthro, history, and or art than I have...

As Nietchzse's old wise man, coming down from his sojourn in the mountains, in "Also Sprach Zarathrustra" said:

"Haven't these sad and simple people heard that God has died?"

But what are your deep and complex views (informed by your bible bashingness) on proletarian or bourgeois art?

Was or is your God a bourgeois or is she working class? Surely God is a woman - no? And Jesus (he was Black man - no?) - he was fraud - no? Where is all the love and kindness?
What about Brian - eh? Imm!!?? - eh?! Eh!!?

All evolutionists and virtually all old-earth creationists believe that animals were killing and eating one another for millions of years, long before the Fall of man. Young-earth creationists argue that this is incompatible with Scripture. Old-earthers dispute the young-earthers’ interpretation of Scripture and employ at least two other counterarguments. One is that carnivorous behaviour is actually very good, and the other is that animals in the wild do not suffer. There is very good reason to believe that they do suffer; but even if they do not, carnivorous activity before the Fall remains incompatible with Scripture.

'Richard Taylor':

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

If your a Satanist YOU SURE ARE PROVING IT?!
